Halloween 2008

Halloween 2008 Pictures - Party Pics

We again hosted a Halloween party for friends which was a big success. Nothing like a roomful of 10 three year olds running around hopped up on candy! Lots of fun. We all went as pirates this year (I didn't think my zombie outfit would go over very big). Our daughter was Captain Tyrone from the Backyardigans - a favourite of hers.

Halloween 2008 Pictures - Setup

Setup started a week early this year on account of the party and it was a good thing too - even with taking the day off on Halloween it was still down to the wire getting everything all ready.

Weather for setup this year was horrible. It was either cold & raining or cold & windy. At one point during the week before Halloween I actually woke up to snow flurries in the air! This brought back all my childhood memories of Halloween in Winnipeg where it would always snow either before or on Halloween night without fail.

Halloween 2008 Pictures - Halloween Night

With the weather finally turning nice Halloween night couldn't have been more perfect. It wasn't too cold for the trick-or-treaters and the wind died down so that the fog didn't get blown away. I was using Froggy's Swamp Juice and a mini Vortex chiller this year and they both worked like a charm. The fog hugged the ground and would slowly roll along through the graveyard and out onto the driveway. Very creepy effect. For lighting I had switched over to almost all blue and orange spots and was quite happy with the result. Definitly more spooky looking and less day-glow. I got many favourable comments and tons of kids - at least 250 if not close to 300. All-in-all a fun night.
